Mendoza Argentina 
Mendoza is in the foothills of the Andes and is surrounded by vineyards, apparently over 1,200 of them.
The main areas for wine country and Bodegas are Mapui, Lujan de Cuyo, Uco Valley located between Lujan and San Carlos –very close to the Andes, San Rafael and to the north they are starting to plant up near Salta.
So since we are in wine country lets talk about wine.
Well the first thing we did was to stop and gather further info on Bodegas and have the tourist people call a few locations for info and costs. (The reason I had them call is because I had spent days researching Bodegas and hardly anyone got back to me).
Stop #1.Vines of Mendoza located at 567 Espejo- between Chile and 25 de Mayo in Mendoza.
Hear we met Pablo.
He has take 4 years of chemical engineering, and has 1 year left in his studies to be a wine maker. His family owns 95 ares of vineyards down near San Carlos (currently they are selling the grapes to other winemakers and in the process of setting up their own winery.
While in the capable hands of Pablo we sampled around 17 different wines- WOW!
And had a cheese, meat, small fresh breads, crackers, sparkling water bottles and cracker plate, Plus Pablo pulled out Zuccardi family’s award winning excellent olive oil-the BEST I have very tried! 
Total cost was $170 Argentina pesos or about $53 US dollars plus we got so much information from Pablo we tipped around $20 US dollars and spent from 4pm to 9pm in there.
Best wine of the night was Carmelo Patti.
Night after night we returned to the Vines of Mendoza for more education and marvellous wine. We completed a wine sensory lesson
, and attended a wine makers tasting event that was filled with information on his wine making ideas and about his 5 generations of wine making family back in Italy, Alessandro Speri. 
Over all Mendoza is a place you want to visit at some time in your life.
It is located at the foot hills of the Andes a gripping setting set up against a modern city full of leafy streets line with cafes.
